I have always roadtripped the climbing gear...I was wondering when you flew somewhere how you packed everything. Did you just throw it all in a duffel, or did you pack your rope in a garbage bag first or something. What about draws, cams other gear...

Take pictures of all your gear before you go. If your bag gets lost you have proof of what you can claim. Also have your chalk so that it is somewhat accessable. You know security is going to question that. And you don't want them to tear apart all of your stuff. You might even want to notify the airport people when you bring the bag to check it in. That way they can scan it right away and determine that it's fine. But yea definately take pics of your gear.

Put your chalkbag in a ziplock. Keeps everything from getting covered by an errant puff.
