This canyon has been decreed a "no guide canyon" by the locals. If you want route names ratings etc...buddy up to some of the mountainworks/ quarry guys.

yeah, i've got some buddies who've climbed santaquin and say it rocks but it's still trying to be kept quiet i guess. i even heard some rumor that they (being the people who put up routes) bolted...i don't know how they put it...a decoy wall or something like that. they put some lines on a very obvious wall near the mouth of the canyon on crap rock, just to turn people around. once again, i just heard that from someone who heard it from someone etc etc etc. Either way, i would like to get up there with someone who knows what there doing. It'll be interesting to see how it ends up in a few decades.

oh, and ps, grk10vq, before you go accusing someone of being a dumbass you should check part of the post that says "this topic refers to the area...."

hey, i live in Santaquin maybe a mile from the canyon and i'm lookin to get into climbing but have no idea and very very little experience, just wonderin if anyone comes down here often and if they could show me the ropes sometime, even if it was to watch and just pick up some skills and knots and what not just to get started, thanks
