Hey all, Heading to Hueco this weekend. Got the Sherman guide. Watching the video for my permit at 7:00am. Etc., Etc.... I'm going with my buddy ( who has been there several times ) and he keeps aking me what I want to do.....we are staying with North Mountain area, as to avoid the guide issue. It's like a kid in a candy store for me and I'm not sure where to start. Let me know your thoughts on the matter. Just for Sh^ts and giggles. Thanks D

Need more of an idea what range you are looking for . . . pm me if you want . . . btw - don't be turned off by the "guide issue" E.Mountain, W. mountina and the spur all have fantastic problems, and the whole guide thign is not really that difficult or complicated . . . particularly on a non-holiday weekend.

Waitaminnit- you're a Tucson climber and not going to Beanfest this weekend?! Oy! But Hueco is damn cool, and a good enough reason to miss out on the semi-annual parade of beans and tequila. While there, check out this probby: http://www.rockclimbing.com/...p.cgi?Detailed=31905 Nobody Gets Out of Here Alive, or Nobody Here Gets Out Alive, or whatever. Let me know what the top looks like, as I have no clue other than hearsay ;) Orifice Affair is pretty fun too. Hole-hole-hole-top. Sweet!

I was just there last weekend. :D People have mostly suggested what I'd suggest. But forgot one: Go to New Meadow. Do Lobster Claws (V5, aka Anal Intruder #10).

Moonshine is one of the best in the park, but it's not on North. On North, here are some recommendations at each grade: V0/1 - Orifice Affair, Melon Patch, Ghetto Simulator, Left and Right El Wannabe, Thunderbird, Split Crack V2 - Local Flakes, Butterdish, Nobody Gets Out Alive, What's Left of Les V3 - Sign Of The Cross V4 - Michael Kenyon, Pounding System, What's Left of Les Left V5 - Lobster Claw V6 - Right and Center El Murrays, King Cobra, Mopboys (long traverse, more like 5.12) V7 - Babyface, Daily Dick Dose, Stegasaurus, Speedbump V8 - Mushroom Roof V9 - Power of Silence If you're a mutant the classic hard problems on N are: V10 - Left Martini V12 - Right Martini, Diaphanous Sea V14 - Esperanza

Just for Sh^ts and giggles. Geez, don't forget to bring a rope... Sea of Holes, Malice in Wonderland, Alice in Bananaland, Window Pane, bunches of great routes...all in the Sherman guide. Worth the time to spend part of a day just hiking around and lookin' for the Starry Eyed Man... Etc. Have fun! -Brian in SLC

Pete's has been closed for quite some time. On the "not to miss" list is El Rancho Escondido, however. Curt
