I don't know why, but I find this very amusing.

Maybe it's because I don't train. I just climb, er, klimb. 8^)

The geeky side of me says "Interesting".

The climber side of me says "Expensive (to a climber anyways)".

Discussion regarding this post has already begun here: http://www.rockclimbing.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=886334&highlight=#886334

I'm sure a mod can delete or lock this superfluous second post.

Forty Dollars?! I might try it if it was free, but I certainly wouldn't pay more than 5 or 10 bucks. Unless it came with a free resole, or some gear or something...

Weak, dude.

Do people actually pay for software? Seems like a foolish idea.

Believe it or not, they do. The funny thing is, people who write software still have to eat, pay for housing, etc. Crazy, huh?

Tried to download the trial and got an error.

It's all good anyway. This program would probably seize up given my cardio, weight training, and climbing.

the funny thing is, since the software is in java, if you select windoooze, linux or freebsd, they all point to the same .jar file

Only if you log onto the same machine using 2 different user accounts. I am not going to install the trial myself, but it would be interesting to know if you install it using a Windows Admin account, if it asks if you want it visible/usable by all users on the machine?

Yeah, the trial does ask you this.

Sounds like their "single user" license is probably a "single installation" license then.....is my guess.

I installed it, thanks to the posted download link.

You only need to purchase one copy, as the program allows you to create profiles for additional people. Once created, you then use the drop down box to select that person and enter the information.

Therefore you could have multiple people using it without any issues.

However, I don't know how useful this app is and my old paper based system probably works just as well. I couldn't figure out how to put comments or names of climbs in the training diary. It had two choices Sport or Bouldering!

Cheers

O.K. I down loaded the softweare. nice interface but I find it to have very limited utility.

Am I missing something? for the climber who trains using structured climbing activities such as ARCing, 4X4s, power endurance laps, etc this softwear appears to be of no use at all. looks like a good product for people who go to gold's gym during the week rather than a climbing gym.
