going to be in maine next week for some long-needed r&r. i'm trying to find nice climbs in the Acadia National Park. does anyone know a good 5.5 - 5.7? going to be with a beginner so i don't want her to over-do it. i've found one called the Chimney which has a varied rating between 5.5 and 5.7, but i can't really tell from the reviews. all the postings are for guided expeditions, but i just want to go on my own. any tips would be greatly appreciated...

I've climbed Acadia and the only place I know is Otter Cliffs. It's top rope and you have to rappel down. It's about a 60-80 ft climb and there are quite a few different routes 5.6 to about at least 5.12 (way above my abilities any way). There's a cool boulder traverse in Bar Harbor. Starts near the whale watching boats and goes for at least a quarter mile. Most of it is over water tho. And there are quite a few pinnacle boulders scattered around the park. Good Times!
