getting started in a gym is a good way to go. you can meet people to train with, and most gyms have free weights and stuff to supplement your climbing workout. plus, it's the safest climbing environment; perfect for beginners.

Ya, before you blow some cash on a guide, go to the gym. It will cost you much less and you'll get to climb a lot more. If you like it, get a membership and climb there often. When you're ready to go outside, your best bet is to find someone at the gym willing to teach you for fre... AW
