Anyone know of a source for chalk bags that aren't the same old
styles I see around? I tend to like my bags larger/deeper.
I am looking for something that makes people say, "He flails like
a fish out of water on 5.10s, but look at that bag!".
Something 'different', you know.
I saw the RC.com ones:

but they don't look too large. I would also like a removable
strap for bouldering and a brush slot maybe.
Any 'Elvis' bags out there maybe? :-) That would rock, so to
speak.

Here's an idea.
I once saw this dude at the climbing gym who had a chalk bag he made him self.
Thing is, he made it by hollowing out a stuffed toy. I think it was "Grover" from Sesame street. So my advice is, dig up your old teddy bear from your youth, grab a needle and thread and give teddy a new life.

Make your own. It only takes a couple of minutes and and a little ingenuity.
The last one I made was from thick purple velvet. It looked sweet!! 8^)
I did get a couple of funny looks though :lol:

Mine is made of Dr. Suess print fabric. From the company called Krieg, bought at Paragon Sports. When I was at Rock & Snow a while back, they had some other funky fabric ones, probably from the same company....

i saw a chalk bag at a gym once of a stuffed bunny's head he took a old chalk bag, cut the lining out and sewed it into the bunny's head he cut a little hole in part of the ear to hold the brush but the funniest (perhaps most disturbing) was he took red dye and dyed the fur around the neck where he cut the head from the rest of the toy.

:D I made my own with a silnylon outer (that light fabric in golite stuffsacks) and quilted a liner out of patterned fleece samples my mom had, then used a piece of bike brake cable for a stiffener.

I think FISH still has a variety of animal prints. I don't know where you can find a spiffy sporto swammi though. Flailing on 5.10's without leg loops will make you look harder than merely flailing on 5.10's with a good chalk bag.
My friend Poop*G inverted a bunny puppet for his chalk bag. Very cute.

Your photos have to be saved onto a server online first. (You can't just have them on your computer desktop) RC.com can carry them for you, but it's a pain in the butt, as the purpose is really to link to the route database....
Someone suggested using http://www.photobucket.com to host the photos, and now I use that. Works very well, and is free!
After your photos are saved online, then you go to the forum you want to post them in and hit "Post Reply." You hit the "Img" button above, then paste the url for your photo, and then hit the "Img" button again. Be sure to preview it before submitting, to see if you did it right. For some reason, people have a really hard time figuring out how to add the photos....But once you get the concept, you wonder what the hell was causing you such difficulty to figure it out!

Hmm... When I need it in a "jiffy", I don't think I want my chalk to be anywhere near my peanutbutter sandwich (or my knife). I think I'll leave the other essitials in my camelback/pouch. 8^)

One often overlooked place to store a small headlamp and knife is in the rectum. Of course, if you are prone to emotional reactions to stress, this can turn on the headlamp inexpectedly from excessive clenching.

Met her at Hueco, her chalk bags are pretty cool. I was going to have her make me a purple velvet chalk bag with a hot pink fuzz liner till I found a Franklin purple velvet chalk bag and my boyfriend bought it for me.

You send in the material and some cash, you get a chalkbag. A rad one too, really deep with a stiff rim. He does the same thing with ropebags - they are also nice with a really large tarp.
