I heard a rumor that the black ice couloir had melted and is gone. is this true? granted this was a rumor, but i do know that fixed pro on the wall has been out of reach lately. Im going to do it this summer if its there. haha

It is true that it no longer often forms as a true alpine ice climb and much of the fixed pro is out of reach because much of the permanent snow/ice is gone. I was in the Enclosure Ice Couloir in late July and it was an awsome neve climb. The Black Ice looked similar, if not better. I have no idea how the late season went, i.e. if either route turned into good alpine ice, but if you're willing to say fuck the fixed pro, conditions will still turn it into a good climb.
