A couple of guys at hanger 18 in upland said that the Hercules Finger area was gated off and had no trespassing signs on it. I was wondering if anyone else was aware of this closure and could verify if It was true or not.

As far as I know, Hercules is on BLM land but the roads that allow easy access have always been closed a mile or more away. We took the oportunity that the federal govt shut down presented in the first Clinton administration to tick it off. The BLM became extremely agressive about cutting off access to many areas after the Diane Fineswine "Desert Protection Act" It should have been titled the" Access Denial Act"

There are several ways to get there and some may cross private land also. The way we went required some low range 4wd work to get there after following a power line right of way road for a while.
