Remember that if you are sport climbing you will need draws (usually around 10 works well) and something to either set up a top rope (runners, and locking biners) or to set up your rappel (you should always have a belay/ rappel device on your harness when climbing outside). When you are first getting into sport leading for the most part you can use your partners (assuming thet you are going with someone who knows what they are doing, and its just not you and your noob buddy doing what you read in a book- it is alot better to have that book knowledge and someone who can tell you if you are doing it wrong).
