Hi,

I am planning a road trip from Chicago to Seattle and am wondering where I should stop along the way for the best climbing and hiking.

I have only lead sport routes, 5.6-5.9 and am able to top rope 5.10s.

The plan is to stay north and go through Montana, northern Utah, Idaho, Oregon.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Being an Oregonian, I have to say check out Smith Rock. Good stuff to be climbed there.

You should cross the border and go to Skaha just outside of Penticton. Your dollar makes it cheap, cheap, cheap. Check it out in Routes (canada, BC, Skaha bluffs).
