HP40 free camping?  (North_America: United_States: Alabama: Northern: Horse_Pens_40)

We are living on the road and really want to spend time at HP40, but 8 bucks per person per night is a bit steep. Are there any other options within 20-30 minutes away?

Any suggestions would help. Thanks!

I would like to know if there is any free camping around HP40 as well.
