So who knew there was a climbing area within 45 minutes of Raleigh.....

Does anyone know how to get to the Roxboro boulders?

What's the quantity and quality of problems there?

Also, I've hear there are some routes up there as well. What's the deal? Is it just bouldering or is there some sport, trad, or TRing as well??

Any information would be appreciated.

Come on down to the New River Gorge in Fayetteville , W.V. I'll even act as your guide!

Um.... that's not the answer I was going for, but when I can make my way up to W.V. I will definitely take you up on that offer.

However, does anyone know anything about Roxboro?

The bouldering there is ok, there are a few decent problems, but it is kinda weird access. You have to go through a pasture (watch out for the bull), over a fence and up a ways. Go with someone who knows!

I'm going there tomorrow. The local name of the place is Hagars mtn. Though thats some what of an exageration. But if you have limited time it works fine. There are climbing routes, about 30-50 feet, and there are boulder problems. I'll be there in the afternoon if you need a partner.
oh and most of the climbing routes are moderate, but a few offer a good challenge.
