I'll guess Kanchenjunga.

Sorry Curt... No
The question was "Before Mt. Everest was discovered, what was the tallest mountain in the world?"

Mount Everest was still the tallest mountian in the world even though it wasnt discovered.

Doh. What is the tallest mountain in the world from base to summit (bottom to top) as opposed to elevation above sea level?

I think Clausti is right about his island in Hawaii... although its spelt Mauna Loa (day have dyslexic a). If i recall from my history classes its like 15 - 17 km (i cant remeber exactly)in evelavtion although most of that is pushed below the ocean floor.

Close. Its actually Mauna Kea, which is near Mauna Loa on the big island of Hawaii.

Ok this one isnt a riddle and isnt a play on word... just requires a little thought. What word in english can have 4 of its 5 letters removed and still have it's original pronunciation?

Excellent question. While much of the rock in Minnesota is indeed wonderful, the "choss" we have available to us down here is not currently covered by ice or snow.

Camalots.

Indeed, and with lesvor too.

Nope. I have no idea who Kurt is.

And what was the bottom line for leaving Minnesota?

Thanks,

Well, let's see. I had the opportunity to take a job in LA, involving a huge pay increase in 1981, with Tahquitz, Suicide, Rubidoux, Joshua Tree and Yosemite basically in my backyard--or I could stay in MN amd freeze my ass off for six months out of the year.......

Tough choice.

The best boulder problem of any difficulty there is probably Saturday Night Live.

The word Queue. If you take away ueue (Queue) and leave the q (Queue) It still says Queue. Read and say: Q Queue

Well, you are going for your PhD, no? You can look up Kerwin Klein at UC Berkeley. He is a professor of history there. I think its a hoot that you ran into him in Toulumne.

And on a sort of related note, why have Polarwid and Sasquatch never been seen in one place at the same time?

I think it is a hoot you know him. I don't think I'll look him up. It was a . . . what . . . 2 hour sesh and never saw him again. That would be akin to stalking. :)
