my suggestion would be to go some where else that doesn't charge you $25 buck for a 10 minute lead belay test.... the Rock Oasis does it for free and The Climbing Academy only costs $15
|

The info in the paragraph on the last page is wrong. It's $25 not $15 for the lead test

When I took the test it was more like 40 minutes, much longer than at other gyms in Toronto. It was way more thorough than the other gyms too... You do at least three climbs, something super-easy, something moderate, and one of the roofs. The tester is looking for comfort making the clips, plus skill at safely falling on flat and overhanging walls. On belay, the tester is looking for skill anticipating and feeding with the Gri-Gri, ability to give a dynamic catch, and weird stuff like what to do about Z clips. It's up to you to decide whether you want to pay $25 for the right to lead there, or whether you want to use a Gri-Gri (it's mandatory at Joe's). http://www.braithwaite-lee.com/
