I believe that PassThePitonsPete and I have set a new record for the Excalibur: two days to fix five pitches, ten days on the wall and two days to get down. Does anyone know of a slower party, ever?

I will stand as witness to this feat. Lisa and I watched this whole 14 day flying circus unravel. It was supposed to be my turn with PTPP and his flying circus but I got the flu while cleaning the first pitch. My first big wall is in jeopardy. Damn!!

I believe that Tom Kaspar deserves the DR. PITON OFF-THE-COUCH AWARD for his ascent of Excalibur on El Cap's spectacular southwest face. Tom had not climbed anything at all in EIGHTEEN FREAKIN' YEARS, yet he managed to not only climb El Cap, but to lead ten of the twenty-eight pitches. He also managed to avoid creating epic clusterf*cks on my belays. Er, at least most of the time.

Oh, dude. I am sooooo embarrassed. I swear Josh looked like a girl thru the binocs from half a mile away. Either that, or I'd been on the wall too long. Or else I was dreaming of some other suntanned hardbodied climbing babe..... Sheesh. Yeah, great trip, mate! Sorry I missed you!
