Hello! Today I traversed at my gym with my eyes closed. I don't have a belay partner and was told it was a good training technique to try, so I did it and boy was it revealing. I did it on an easy slab and around a slab/chimney and with my eyes closed, I really focused on touch and feeling around, and I found that the difference is that when I climb with my eyes open, I tend to have an inner dialogue that's fairly self-focused and I don't trust my body as much. With my eyes closed, I was much more wall focused and my body in terms of technique, balance and weight distribution did just fine. Just wanted to share that I am beginning to realize why it's so important to conquer those inner demons and challenge those fallacies as recommended in RWW. Marge
