I am looking for a guidebook for the Needles in California. If anyone knows how to get a hold of one it would be much appreciated! [ This Message was edited by: squishclimber on 2002-06-15 22:24 ]

Try the following: http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?userid=55P9G0M4CK&isbn=0934641439 The book is called "Southern Sierra Rock Climbing: The Needles" Whether it's still in print or not, I'm not sure. Good luck! Marc

YA, The guide has been out of print for more than a year. Guides may still be found, but they're getting scarce. [ This Message was edited by: rickoldskool on 2002-08-13 00:19 ]

take a notebook with you to the Ponderosa or the lookout tower and copy the info from there. the book is out of print and my copy seems to be with "friends" in SF anyways Seriously, the copy at the Ponderosa is the most up-to-date of all, because new routes and route hazards are almost always drawn into it by the people who put them up.

I dont have any idea if they still have copies, I bought mine in Feb. let us know if they still have copies, so others can get theirs -Rob edit, the book is Southern Sierra Climbing: The Needles by Vernon, Moser and Child ( I think) the above site calls the book Sierra Needles [ This Message was edited by: radistrad on 2002-08-13 06:42 ]

I have Southern Sierra Rock Climbing BOOK 2 The Needles, 1992, Moser, Vernon, Paul. I'll copy anything you want. PM me. Also see my Parner message for the Needles. I'm going there for my first time with some visiting Norwegians in September.
