Started climbing about 2 years ago. I took a 13-day course in Washington with Alpine Ascents International to get started. The course included mountain climbing, rock climbing and ice climbing, along with basic winter camping techniques and route finding. I have since climbed Mount Rainier (via Emmons Glacier) and have rock climbed in Washington, Alaska and Wisconsin. I climb indoors about once a week during the winter and have started to sport climb indoors. I feel like I have a good base of climbing skill and knowledge, and I now want to get more experience on lead. I'm always looking for climbing partners in the Chicago area.
