Hi Ive been climbing since 1986 I do alpine rock ice aid etc.
Climbing slowly taken over me. Its now to the point where I no longer climb to escape reality but rather like an addict my state of fix has become my reality, where being high in the mountains is normal and having thousands of feet exposure benieth you is a friendly rush, the rush and torment of climbing is more comfortable then the daily exsistance I must lead in the drudgery of an alternate state (which is known to the masses as normal life)
After obligations have caught up to me, I must return from my reality of climbing to a world full of mundane and menial tasks that suck the very life from my existance.
I dream of times when Ill return back to my reality where decisions are REAL where your actions have REAL consequences where everything you do is about your survival and acomplishments where it doesnt matter how crap your spelling is, where who gives a rats ass what video you rent, or wether or not you get the blue one or the yellow or if its whole weat or multigrain........such igsignificant decisions, yet the masses loose sleep over them every night in thier "real life" well such things have no bearing in my real life.
But alas, Ive once again come down and although like any drug, its the hardest thing. As soon as theres enough rescorces to go again then I will get my fix and step back into my reality.
Damn I gotta get climbing
