I'm 21 and a beginner! I've been climbing since October 08 and I love it. When I'm not too busy with school, I try to hit the gym every other day or so and climb outdoors on the weekends. I climb a 5.6 here in WV at Coopers. Some say the ratings are a bit difficult here, but it still doesn't make me too great of a climber. I have trouble committing, the fear of falling still inhibits me, and I need pushed!!! My main hurdle comes when my feet are 10ft off the ground...all of a sudden my rubber doesn't hold anymore and my legs shake, but after that point I'm good (when I focus). My only experience is with TR and boulder, but as I get more comfortable on rock and with falling, I would like to learn to lead both trad and sport. I'm not much in to bouldering, but I like figuring out the moves and learning more about my balance, so I do it. I'm going to be in San Jose for the summer working for IBM, and I'm looking for a partner I can climb with a few days a week in the evenings after work and on the weekends. The only thing is, I won't have a car while I'm there...so transportation will need to be taken into consideration.
I climb because I enjoy it and because it challenges me. I love to have fun, relax, enjoy a good beer, and be myself.
