Description

The Multi-Loop Gear Sling by Metolius is perfect for the trad climbing day out at T-wall, the Valley or the steeps of The New River Gorge. Lightweight , with tubing covered loops that organize and hold your gear in place, eliminating that annoying mass of gear sliding downwards when you start to go horizontal. Essential for grabbing gear fast, and allows more of a balance of weight as you climb. Please never use the gear slings as an anchor or to tie off with, these gear loops are non structural and are for gear racking only.

Have the newer model with a fleece lining, which the shoulders appreciate. i like a well organized rack, so the multiple loops and adjustable features are nice. if you carry a ton of pro, its worth having one of these instead of cord or spectra cutting against your shoulders/neck.

maybe it's just me, but when I'm bing and I grab the wrong cam or hex, I tend to just throw it back on the rack in the front. after a few poor selections, my rack is a confused mess. he front loop is full and the rest are empty (ok, that's a little of an overstatement...). I tihink I might have been better off with a regular gear loop, without the dividers. But I've never used anything else so I imagine the problem might be the same, just a little less crowded in the front. I like my sling, perhaps it was just the wrong choice for my climbing style.

hosh.

I have the newer model and instead of leather against your skin there is a soft fleecy material that is comfy. Great for those of us who really like to organize the rack.

If you want a over the shoulder sling with your gear on one side the Metoluis sling is a must. It is well padded and I had the Multi-loop which is great to keep the gear seperated. I like the D attachment to help balance the gear and to add more space. Nothing bad to say about it, but I have since moved up to the Metoluis Big Wall sling for my trad climbing, it is the best I have tried.

Comfortable, light(ish) and runner strength. The multiloops makes organization easier and the loops stay nice and stiff for a long time. I've had mine for 6 years or so and the racking part of it is still great. I have the older model though that had the leather underneath the padding (against your skin). It was Uber comfy for a while, then the leather started wearing and breaking apart. Perhaps it was fixed on the newer ones. It's still usable, and the foam is still cushy, but I gave it a three because of that cursed leather (is it even real leather? I dont know).
