discrepancy on cross gate load 4 out of 5 stars

Review by: mheifets, 2008-08-26

Agree with all that is said,
notice discrepancy on cross load was 9 kN when i bought them in 2006, now both website and stamping on the new biners (2008) say 7 kN. Does it mean that old ones really are 7 and not 9? or design changed?
They also take more space to rack than superfly

Orgasmic 5 out of 5 stars

Light, smooth, strong, and sexy. There isn't much more that can be said, but I will elaborate below anyways.

Helium biners are a super light biner unlike no other. The structure is an I-beam design to limit extra metal. The wire gate limits the dangers of gate flutter because of extra stiffness and lower mass.

The hood protects the connection of the gate. This protection makes for some smooth biner action. I rack my nuts on one of my heliums, and I have never had a nut catch on the tip as with most wiregate biners. While the tip is protected by a hood, the hood does not make the tip overly bulky. So, the size of the biner is still limited. This helps with weight savings and manipulation while in a desperate situation.

The heliums are full strength as with any other climbing rated biners. These however go above and beyond most other's ratings. The size matches and exceeds other wiregates, and the gate opening is big enough that I can't believe anyone would complain.

Finally, just look at them! If you don't get turned on by the looks of them, then you might need to check your pulse. They make up the backbone of my rack, and I will continue to buy more despite their outrageously high price.

Genius design 5 out of 5 stars

The no-snag wire gate is a dream come true - this is darn near the perfect biner. If the price were lower, I'd have even more of these.

A good biner, but not as good as the DMM Shield 3 out of 5 stars

This is a good biner but I find that I like me DMM Shields much better. The Shield also has a hooded, no-snag gate, is very light, and the shape is superior.

Wicked. 5 out of 5 stars

These Biners are evil in a good way, sad they only come in red :)
