The Figure 8 is great for repelling. The one thing that I don't like about them is how it twists the rope. Belaying on sport routes with the Figure 8 is hard on feeding the rope through.

Tried, tested and true figure 8....i love this one because it is not too small or too big..the problem with the fig8 from BD is that is way too small...the fig8 by DMM is its just the right size, it can no problem have two 13mm static ropes go through it
