Not as good as they used to be

I was a huge fan of these pants when they first came out. They were built for climbing and had features like double lined knees, velcro fly, and buttons for rolling your pants up. Loved them. Unfortunately the most recent roll it is not even a near comparison to the old. They only retain the roll up feature and the knee area tore while I was doing a simple knee jam and since the knee of the pant is no longer double lined it went straight to the skin. A few years ago I would've sworn by these pants and recommended them to anyone, but now I can't give them any recommendation.

I got a pair of these for $15 at REI a few years ago, they were a little baggy, but it was a steal and I could tighten the belt and roll them up so I figured what the heck. That was in march of 05. Now I still have these pants, and LOVE them. They are roomy and stretchy, I never think that I could get my foot up higher if only my pants weren't so tight. They are also incredibly durable, I lived in these for the better part of 2 months while on the road climbing, I suffered through many a yosemite offwidth, red rocks approach, and sketchy J-tree descent, and these pants held up. I did tear a hole in the rear pocket and most of the stitches in the back from but scooching down some particularly hairy descents, but a little bit of thread and time, and they are as good as new. These pants also hide dirt pretty well and dry quickly. I can't say enough good things about these pants, I want another pair, and probably a pair of the shorts too, for when it's too hot for the pants (which is rare). I highly recommend them to anyone who is interested in a pair of comfortable, durable, and flexible pants.

I was pleasently surprised at the comfort of fitof these pants in comparisan to other Prana Products. Likewise, on their maden voyage to rock, I noticed a bit of abraision at the end of the day, and was skeptical. By month 8 of heavy use on all types of rock, they are stillholding well and are my favorite climbing pants. The integrated belt and snaps for rolling up the cuffs are increadibly efficient, and nice to have.
My only complaints are the velcro fly (I've always hated this design and wish prana would get it out of their heads that this is a good thing) and the stitching of the seams. The thread seems a bit thin and is wearing out faster than the pant material.

I have to admit that I was skeptical when I first purchased them, however I must say after climbing in them and taking a hard skiding fall.
I expected to find holes insted of just scuff marks. Even a year latter and alot of wear I still don't have holes in the knees.
They have become my favorite pants. And now own a couple pairs.
Unfortunately, Prana doesn't make sizing fit us big guys very well so I end up wearing XL. Just wish they would would make clothing that fit us normal size guys.

This pant is pretty good, but I have recently replaced it with Vuno Series Stretch pant from CW-Gear.com. The Vuno Pant has a greater amount of stretch with all the same features as the Prana. And its cheaper. I would definitely check them out if you are thinking about buying the Stretch Zion. Would give the Prana a higher score if there wasn't a better product in town.
