Review 5 out of 5 stars

Review by: jakedatc, 2004-07-28

I'm a big fan.. ive been climbing all spring and summer up at Rumney in these and they stick so nice.. i got them to fit aggressive but not super painful so they'll last the whole route without making me cry.
the laces are kind of a pain but they do offer the ability to adjust them alot so the extra time is worth it.

My "torture shoes". I can stand on subatomic particles in them. The darn things actually fit my narrow heels and high arches, so they're probably not as uncomfortable to me as they would be to people with "normal" feet. As static_climber noted, these are NOT beginner shoes. Super aggressive, and worth the price (I paid 130). And they look like ketchup and mustard. How can you go wrong?

This is only the second pair of shoes I've owned, so I probably don't appreciate these shoes to their fullest...however, I do really like them. There is a problem though - the shoes have a "slingshot rand" which means your big toe is thrown up into the point of the shoe - awesome for edging, but it makes my feet hurt like hell! And all the while my heel feels fairly loose, especially on heel-hooks. Maybe I sized mine too small....in any case, if you've never used Sportiva shoes with this rand before try on a pair before you buy.

amazing the best shoe ever or at least i think so. but i have only climbed in sportiva i dont know how other shoes feel but i must say out of the 4 pairs of shoes i have had they are the best. i think they are over priced but only because im cheap and didnt enjoy spending 160 on a pair of climbing shoes. but they are worth it. i would pay it again in a heartbeat. they were a bit uncomfortable in the beginning the only shoe that i have owned that had a toe pocket like them so it was weird. and they have really big archs which was very strange to get use to. but now they are very comfortable. i dont recommend them for beginners or anyone who is not sure if they want to stay with climbing. they fit amazing and there toe it just awasome.
