i really like this mag, but i hate all the commercials. the gear reviews are great, techtips are sometimes really great. the only thing that bothers me is the fact that they post the results of comps, imporatnt ascents with a 3 mont lag.

Sorry, don't buy this rag anymore. Two things:
1. They bad mouth us flatlanders. A couple of derogatory articles about climbers from the Midwest. Admittedly we don't have the best on the planet but you just don't let your staffs make those types of remarks.
2. After the big row with Rock and Ice they printed an article about it. Pompous, derogatory, demeaning, etc. Hmmm.. is it any wonder the defections were FROM Climbing TO Rock and Ice.

Great magazine. love the gear reviews, the picture galleries, and hell...sharma's diary was a great read for a big fan like me.
