cheap 5 out of 5 stars

Review by: elnero, 2007-04-17

I use these to rack slung gear like hexes and tricams, little lighter than the solid gate ovals, the Doval is lighter still, but more expensive. Really, its a cheap easy biner, multipurpose, pretty light.

Take the classic oval but add an easy clipping gate. a great biner to put on your cams or rack your hexes, nuts, ball-nuts, or small tri cams.

Good for racking or as a spare biner. I prefer the lighter, easier to spot, similarly shaped Omega Pacific wiregate doval for most racking and pro placement, and the significantly lighter Trango lightweight wiregate for draws. This one has an edge in size for holding more stoppers, has a wider opening, and is large enough to use in a makeshift belay device, something you'd be hard pressed to do with tiny lightweight biners.

Great lighter weight option to the standard oval. They work well for aiding while remaining light enough and clippable enough for general trad. Great value!
