The new production is different fromt the older ones 3 out of 5 stars

The new model uses coarser and thicker leather. The sole is stiffer. The rubber at the outer side of the foot, just below the ankle bone, is so high that it cuts into my ankles.

This is the first shoe I've owned, but was definitely the best out of all that I tried on. Very comfortable, but still good for harder climbs. Lasted about 7 months.

Great shoe if your starting out, however it's not as great for the technical stuff. There really comfy however, and fit my arches the best out of the shoes I have tried on.
I bought mine too big, and would suggest buying about a size and a half smaller then your normal shoe size (they don't talk that long to streach).
These shoes lasted be about a 6-9 months and then the rubber around the toes was gone and there was a hole. Like other reviews said they break down really quickly after it starts

I also have high arches so sometimes it's difficult to find a shoe that fits. But I did like the way this one fit and it didn't slip when I did some funky twists to get up some tough routes. I used them for a good 6 months before they really showed wear but the wear continued to escallate no matter how well I took care of them. They breakdown real fast when they start, like the other reviews. Make sure you don't buy these with the intent of not buying another pair within a year, these may be a good transistion shoe but not for active climbers who are considering long-term wear.

I bought these shoes out of desperation to find a women's technical shoe in Canada.

I started climbing in 5.10 Diamonds, and loved them (still do, 3 years later), though I thought that the toe box didn't lend itself very well to small edges. Once they stopped making the diamonds, it was near to impossible to find a women's shoe in Canada, and men's shoes REALLY didn't fit.

I searched, and researched, and finally just caved in and bought the sapphires. I thought they were a little too 'comfy', but boy, did they ever improve my smearing and small hold footwork!

Drawbacks:
1) SMELL! (the diamonds were lined, the sapphires are not)... after four months of 4 days a week in the gym, these babies could clear skydome during a U2 concert. (and no, its not usual for me).
2) Softness. They are super comfy, but I'm noticing exactly the same breakdown that the other user felt... the leather doesn't 'give in', it 'gives UP'!
