Best shoe that I have ever owned. Like others have noted, the heel slips off every once in a while, however, this wont matter if you aren't an agressive boulderer. Great all around shoe - comfortable, holds well on slab, edges fairly well, good in cracks. I love it

Good shoe, I use them for multi pitch trad, hard sport, and bouldering. they're nice and comfortable, easy to get on and off, and I like the padded heel whenever I jump off a problem, or have to walk a bit in my shoes. They are also great on multi pitch, cause you can just un-velcro them, slip your heels out, and let your feet breathe. My only complain is that the heel isn't aggressive enough for me, I've had the shoe slip off a couple of times when I'm heel hooking something which is kinda annoying, but other than that I'm close to my second resole and I still love em.

i bought my first pair of ascents in winter 04/05 and I've used them on Granite, Sandstone, Limestone, Basalt, Boulering, Sport Climbing, and Trad Climbing. My first pair is getting pretty worn out though, the straps are wearing thin, and the leather over the toes will tear in a year or two I think, so I bought another pair. These are great all around shoes! They smear well with onyx rubber, they are nice and flexible (once they are broken in) and I love the padded heel, i feel so weird in shoes with out it now. I like the way the heel fits after I got used to it. The one thing that bothers me about them is with the split tongue sometimes the top of my foot gets pinched when I tighten them, but i just smooth it out and life is good. These are a great second pair of shoes after you've figured out how to use your feet and know what you want from a shoe and what kind of climbing you're going to do.

I got an older version used for 26.00 rubber was good and all, they lasted 6 months on granite and limestone definitely a plus. These were probably the best shoe I have ever owned. fit great, great friction the toe was perfect, and you could easily get a heal hook crimp hold sole step you name it. Once again best shoe I ever bought. I really wish I had money to buy a new pair.

For what they are they are good stuff. Super comfy, and climb well. Great shoe for long hauls, or for the gym. Wouldn't recomend it as a primary shoe, but works for a secondary.
