My climbing buddy owns one of these and we have dragged it everywhere in Acadia. He has had it for a few years now and it only has a few small tears from rocks falling on it. It's a little hard on low problems where you fall right on your back (i.e. you get winded from some falls), but on anything higher it's a life saver. Not bad to carry at all, and easy for us to stuff three pairs of shoes, chalk bags, cliff bars and anything else into. Also makes an awesome camp couch by the fire. Awesome pad for any tall problems.

Personally I have loved everything about this pad, its helped me on big falls, I don't think its a hassle to carry around at all, and the straps that are "to long", really aren't that bad. Also I drive a Ford Escort, basicly a tiny car, and the pad fits in the trunk, or the back seat just fine. Ive hauled it around heuco, taken it to places with long approaches, and slept on it, and it has been great for all of them. I will say, this is my first pad and i'm used to bouldering over, well nothing, so maybe i'd feel the same way about any other pad. A pad is supposed to pad a fall, and prevent injury, and I feel this pad definitely gets that job done.

This is a great pad to fall on, but it can be a pain to work with. Being able to add on extra pads is a great feature, and the velcro really holds them together, but there are so many extra straps on this pad that it becomes a complete annoyance to pack up. The nylon straps are too long on everything, and just get in the way or flop around when hiking with the pad. The backpack straps and waist belt are great and comfy, but there are too many "bells and whistles" on this pad for my tastes. Once you get it set up though, the 4" thick, triple layer foam really does the trick. If you don't mind foot after foot of webbing dangling off the pad and getting in the way, this is a superb pad.

I brought this pad to Hueco along with a few others. This was the pad that I took apart and slept on for a month because I thought it was a pain in the ass. As far as a landing surface, it works. Carrying it too and from the boulders sucked. It was really hard to stuff it full of stuff for some reason. I preferred my much older, smaller metolious pad to this one.
