this was my first climbing shoe, i still use these for the gym, but if i'm out on real rock or doing a lot of heel hooks, i tend to use different shoes. they fit like a glove however, the sometimes still come off on some hooks. great shoes for new climber

I bought one of these beaners for various uses, anchors, belaying, rappelling, attaching my camera to my pack. and they have performed very well. although, after a lot of use the screw lock tends to stick, but still a good beaner nonetheless.

I belay for a rock climbing gym (a lot) and this harness works very well. high friction works well for heavier first timers, and the low friction allows even the smallest kid to come down without a hassle, unless the awful Missouri humidity gets to the ropes, but thats a different story. I have notice a bit of wear after many uses, but nothing that wouldn't happen to any other belay device

Holds chalk well, the seal is decent, however there is still a slight dusting in the trunk of my car. A drawback however, if you choose not to use the belt, a beaner will turn it sideways, making access of both hands tricky. the plastic clips on the belt break easily, but that is generally expected. also, after a crashpad fall, it generally sends up a cloud of chalk, that could otherwise be used climbing. i have to take care with my falls for fear of loosing chalk

I absolutely love this harness, especially when compared to my "hand me down" first harness. The Velcro on the waist belt is handy, but can cause some panic when taking a fall, the "rriiiiipppp" sound of it can at first be unnerving. the leg loops are more difficult to tighten or loosen, but once you get a good size for them, it doesn't need changing.
