good story but i still think the guy was retarted i mean seriously, who goes on a solo climbing/hiking trip and tells NO ONE where he would be. he also tried to scare away a bear by yelling and throwing rocks at it. but im glad he came out of it to climb another day.

As far as padding, this crash pad is pretty good. Like the description said, its a little softer than normal crash pads, but this aspect makes it ideal for gym bouldering, where you are only going to fall about 10 feet. The only problem we have had is people landing on the edge of it and rolling their ankle. We even had one guy break the head of his tibia (loud pop...) from landing on the edge. But overall, a good investment for indoor bouldering.

amazing pad. kinda expensive, but once it was on sale i bought it, and it is worth every penny. great cushon and it definately saves the ankles and knees. also, it has great napping potential...
