Indespensible for hard crack and face climbing. The color coding is nice, but the plastic tears and rips off after repeated usage. A must have for any aspiring 5.10 trad leader.

The most versatile shoe, period. Slip lasted with a rounded toe box that magically seems to conform to almost any size and shape of foot. Sensitive enough fior delicate face climbing, thin enough for toe ajmming finger/hand cracks, and comfortable enought o wear all day on Portreo Chico routes.

The Cadillac of Cams. Beefy, brawny, and brainy. The twin axle allows (arguably) the widest usuable range of any commercial camming device. East tyo use, easy to clean. The downside(s)? Somewhat heavier than the competion; repitition of color coding between small and large cams.

One of the greatest pieces of protection ever brought to the marketplace. The straight poop is that these babies have had a greater influence on allowing me to climb 5.11 trad than any other piece of gear with the possible exception of shoes. The ease of placement and multiplicity of placement options deliver the peace of mind usually reserved for prescription pharmaceuticals. Surfing with the Aliens! Joe Satriani and all that. Double up on sizes blue through red, and if you can get your hands on the hybrids ?!, CALL ME!!!!

Impossible to go wrong with any Mammut products. Supple and smooth running through a belay plate, gri-gri or rappel device. Long lasting, well sealed ends that do not breach and allow the core to become exposed after repeated falls. The duodess pattern (pattern change at middle mark) is so popular it has been copied by almost every other manufacturer. While the proce may be prohibitive to some, its long lasting capabilties make it a bargain.
