I've been climbing with these boots for over a full season now. Used them for more then 30 ice climbing days and many high/cold mountain stuff. Way better then the Yellow Plastic stuff. Not only warmer, but also lighter. The C4 sole is also shaped to permit "normal" walking, rather then robot walking with the Yellow Boots. In my book, the best double rigid boots to this day.

Nice relax jacket to use when you go bouldering in cold morning air. Also good around town to grab a cerveza after your hands got scrapped from all that bouldering... Not a technical apparel, more of a lifestyle thing.

I read the above reviews and find some of them quite amusing. Some are complaining that it's too focussed on Euro climbers and it lacks the American... Sorry to say so, but right now, the biggest accomplishment worldwide are not from Americans alpinists. The hardest mountains and the hardest routes right now are being done by Euros. I'm not talking about sport or bouldering here, strictly about alpinism. In my mind, the magazine does a good job of reporting what's happening in the world of high altitude alpinism. Yes, this sport is costly and yes this sport is for an elite. This is why the magazine costs so much and why it only comes out 4 times a year! It's niche is high altitude alpinism, not scrambling, not rock climbing, not leisure climbing. In my mind, it fulfills its mandate. It can also inspire some of us to pursue the dream of, one day, becoming elite alpinists!

Used those in several conditions last season. They work well in most conditions, but while leading they can be hard to re-clip. Also, when removing the leash, the clip-on system stays on the tool and will damage the tools shaft while using them leash-less. To avoid that, I used a tie-wrap to fix the clip-on portion of the system. Overall good leash. I'd rate them a 3.5 but can't do that... so a 3 it will be.

Overall good crampons and versatile... BUT, lacking newer improvements like heal spure. I think, for the price, DMM Terminator are a better choice. Especially if you have semi-rigid boots.

3.5 would have been my rating...
