I begged/borrowed/stole just about every belay device on the market and the B52 has them beat. Smooth almost frictionless feed, solid locking, controllable abseil, long life. I've used both the early thinner model and now have the slightly more solid revised model, the other change in the update appears to be a more rounded rocker which makes the transition from feed to lock-off slightly smoother.

On a side note, because of the square edge and easy feed, the B52 is brilliant at prussik minding for progress-capture in a hauling setup.

Did a lot of weighing up between these and BD hexentrics before eventually about 3 months ago and have been extremely happy with them ever since, shaved a massive amount of weight off the rack compared to the FADERS hexs they replaced (the three largest faders weigh about double the entire set of Rockcentrics).

They offer the rock solid feeling when placed passively like the other hexs I've used (BD, Faders) but are far more stable and versatile in their camming mode. Lots of places where I would have put a long extender onto a BD hexentric and still worried the WC rockcentric cams up, locks in and won't budge.

Biggest criticism so far is that they don't make one size larger.
