Great tent for backpacking. Really light, really small, easy setup. Vestibule is nice for boots. The stakes suck - I switched out for heavier ones that didn't bend as easily.

A great pack - the clips that attach the pack to the frame are easy to adjust and replace, and the holes inside the pack are great for storing tent poles. The pouch inside the pack is a good place to store a platypus or camelback, especially with the opening for the hose, but if the main compartment is packed the pouch is relatively inaccessible, so refilling the hydration unit mid-hike is challenging. Wish the top two side pockets were bigger so holding Nalgenes was easier.

The auto-lock is great for teaching new belayers - especially if you've got a large group. However, it's real easy to feed the rope backwards - I've seen experienced climbers make the mistake and realize just before climbing. Also, it makes for a bumpy ride when belaying someone down and kids belaying their friends are somewhat encouraged to let them drop a few feet then stop them short - which really kills the rope. The tendancy of newer climbers to stop paying attention to the climber is also dangerous - if they ever switch onto an ATC it could be fatal. Finally, they're damn expensive.

The rescue 8 is great for big guys. I'm good on a double line rappel with the rescue 8 - it's easy to stop and the wings are great for locking off.
