This is the most aesthetically pleasing periodical I've ever seen. I haven't read the articles much because I'm too poor to buy one, but out of the two I've read I didn't get that egotistical slant that others have talked about. Rags like Outside don't begin to compare with their yuppie-gear reviews and ads that remind me of Old Navy.

Excellent story by an excellent writer. Good info on what NOT to do also! I read this book alone, in the dark with only a headlamp and the effect was really cool!

Someone desperately needs to come out with a new edition that includes the info in this and Domelands.
It's informative, but the pictures and descriptions aren't the greatest. I've seen much better.

This is great if you're trying to decide where to live or getting overall comparisons of big destinations. I thought some of the star ratings for areas were a little misleading. I think I visited a few places in Texas that he gave 2 stars to and there was nothing there- I didn't even bother to put my shoes on. I've also noticed some new locations that are popping up that aren't mentioned in RocknRoad, so it's already out of date.

I sent a pair of 5.10 Sapphire's to them last summer. The turn around time was very slow. I remember it being more than a month easy, but mail to Alaska is slow. I like that they use 5.10 rubber. One of the shoes was great, but the other one showed signs of delamination after less than a year (maybe 4 months of regular climbing on them). Next time I'm going to use someone else
