For mountaineering, these are extremly popular in the UK. Very strong, light and plunge well. Good value.

If your using this in water ice great. Not so brill for scottish mixed or general mountaineering. Radically curved. Like this rest of british tools these things are durable as hell, but lack the finese and balanced feel of the european axes.

Really good basic tool. Have used it on everything from VI mixed to WI5 in Norway. It manges pretty well. Can get them really cheap here in the UK, thou they are rare and picks and things are hard to get since HB went belly up.
