It is great for running and hiking to the base of climbs - work well at wicking away sweat and regulating temperature. I've used it as both a outershell and a layer.
It's light weight comes at a cost though. It stinks as far as abrasion resistance. I've snagged while trail running and abraided and snagged it climbing. I think an unlined (or lightwieght lined) softshell (Shoeller or Powershield) would be a better investment.
