This rope would have to be the standard workhorse that is both durable and handles well. I`ve had Blue Water ropes now for about 8 years and have found them to be excellent in hard working environments. Of course you have to protect them from excess wear over sharp edges like any other rope. I haven`t got a bad thing to say about these ropes, they aren`t glamorous but they simply do the job which is exactly what is expected of them.

I really do like Roca ropes. I now have both the 10.5mm and these 9mm doubles. I`m finding more and more that I like the security of the doubles particularly on wandery trad routes but also especially for those hard sport outings where falling is a foregone conclusion. I like the handling of both types of ropes. The handling is silky smooth and that sheath is bombproof. Very nice rope.

Wallnuts are great, even though I only have 3 I would certainly like more of em. As the blurb says they sit over crystals and nubbins that would otherwise dislodge other types of nuts. I love the shape of these things, they sit very nicely where other nuts don`t. I`d recommend having some of these on anyones rack.

Don`t like it never have and never will. This piece of gear will shred ropes given any sort of shock load. Note the instructions "care must be taken to sensure that the Tibloc engages the rope". When is that ever gunna happen in an emergency. Go out and get a real ascender and leave this worthless piece of crap alone. Sure there are some that like it and good for them and if you really do insist on using this gear then try it at home with multiple backups to find out the dos and don`ts of the Tibloc. I would recommend this one for only the most experienced of gear freaks. Definitely not for beginners. Google up the Tibloc threads both here and over on rec.climbing to really get an understanding of the controversy that this device has generated in the climbing community.

I own a set of these nuts and comparing Rocks with the other types of nuts that I own I would have to say that Rocks have been superseded in their design functionality. Sure they work OK but Wallnuts work that much better and HB offsets are that much better again. I pretty much leave my Rocks at home now and take out other brands that are much more useful. For this reason I have given Rocks a below average score. Of course as in all things climbing it "depends (tm)" on where you are climbing as to the functionality of your nuts but for me I find that the various locations and types of rock I climb on suits other types of nuts than WC Rocks.
