A little pricy but these are the ones on my rack. I like the bent gate when you are hanging and trying to get that uncooperative rope to clip.

These are a good biners although I like bent gate better for clipping. Probably blow the budget of a newbie.

My first rack had lots of draws with the Light D. Thing I like about them is that they were relatively cheap. Now I use them when I have to leave one behind.

I like mine for Sport Climbing! All my friends want to use it at the crag.

I don't do much trad being a sport climber, but I have four of these for times when I feel like doing some exploring. Very safe and work great. Fairly easy to place but they are expensive.
