A year and a half of hard use and this pad is still great. Most pads pack out and become much thinner after hard use also corners and straps breakdown and become problems. No such problems with this baby. The buckles are bombproof metal e-clip type design and are pretty easy to use. My only complaint is the thick cordura type denier on the landing side which is still very abrasive. Something a little softer for wiping shoes and lounging on would be better though probably not as durable. Also the pad is so burly that it doesn't unfold and lay flat very easy but rather stays in a u-shape when unbuckled. I thought this nagging problem would go away as it softened, but it is till pretty rigid.

I have placed hundreds of these babies and love them, though they can be tempramental. They are metric so the 10mm diameter means if you are using a 3/8" bit you'll have to ream the hole a bit once your depth has been reached. This will prevent the bolt from jamming when you pound it in. The SS metal is pretty soft so if you you do pound it in a hole that is a little too small, you'll deform or bend it rendering it a useless do over. The rubber washer can be used between the rock and hanger to seal the hole in applications where seepage might be an issue, or between the hanger and metal washer to gain some compression making it less likely to be a future spinner. I recommend using a thread lock compound to keep the nut from ever coming loose. Also remember to use SS hangers with these bolts to prevent metalurgic breakdown.

Overpriced at nearly $10 bucks. The shallow placement is dubious except in very hard stone. Also potentially difficult to place in a less than perfectly drilled hole. The legendary Petzl build quality may be the only redeemable feature.

I have placed hundreds of these and they are the bomb! Cheap, thick, stainless, and a large enough opening for two carabiners make this a segment leader.

A very burly anchor system. Also small and not very visually intrusive, which is nice. The only problem is rope twist. Spend a day climbing routes with these puppies, and after rethreading and lowering off enough of these anchors your rope will be a pretzel. This problem is avoidable by rapping making them best for multi-pitch rap stations, not necessarily for single pitch cragging anchors. The price is good for the quality and size of the metal.
