the water was extremely choppy, swimming back and getting back on land was the definite crux. The rock is really sharp. Just as someone was about to throw us the climbing rope a huge wave came a deposited us back on shore, very scary.

My only criticism of this picture is that the rock on the left is cut off. Otherwise, it looks pretty sexy.

As for the 'choppin': A close look at far right where the rock in the foreground crosses the horizon shows a blueish hue below the horizon line. This seems suspect. the line between the main massif and the water also looks suspect, particularly at the far right. Also note a polygonal line just above the right waterline that seems to bisect light rock below and dark rock above.

This doesn't make it a bad pic. Just chopped.

i wasn't asking how you got back to land i was asking how you got on the rock... before you climbed. I have done A LOT of dws and there is no way I'd risk myself or my boat getting slammed against the rock in big waves... i just don't see how you could safely get on in that kind of water.

The blue looks pretty enhanced. Like the color temperature was lowered a couple hundred K. THe rock also looks very cool, temperature wise. Either way, cool pic. Most thing are photoshopped.

Who really cares if the photo is touched up or not? It's still a gorgeous pic.

no doubt it was PSed, and it could have been done much better with some more time (and a pen tool or pencil selection rather than the poly tool), especially at the full size it is posted at, but it's still a cool shot. Looks flawless on the front page! hah.

Yes it's shopped, obviously. I took all of 3 minutes to tweak levels and other things in a quick photoshop demo for my mom. I did a VERY sloppy job, but I just wanted her to see the types of things you can do with the program. I always had the idea that I'd go back and do it for real. But now I no longer have the original image, so this is all that remains. A quick, hack job on one of my best photos. ah well. Had I not uploaded a huge file size you woulda never known. :)
