nice shot, but there's something missing. Not sure what, but I feel as if I need more to fully take it all in contrast. Weird, 'cause I feel the same way about Ansel Adams photos, too.

You burned in the sky, and it makes it look a little weird. Halos on the trees and that sort of thing. Was this a color image originally? If so, drop out everything but the red channel, it might give you a better b/w image than if you just convert the rgb image to gray scale.

I agree with petsfed. You should repost with suggestions and I would be keeping this as my desktop for a while

i actually did do a channel mixer, but had to leave in some of the green and blue channels or the foreground looked all funky. I agree the tree halos are distracting.... might do some more work on it. Thanks for the tips!

Looks like a beautiful day, the picture is friggin awesome almost ominous. Looks like a setting that could be used for one of those time-lapse shots put in many movies.

I like the image and composition but the trees on the right side bothered me instantly. I think maybe with more work I would like this one better. I would like to see the original.

This is great. Was this taken with a manual film camera? if so what was the f-stop and exposure? I love it!
