It's a point and shoot, I don't have any control over the f-stop. what I did do is use the flash for fill-in. That worked well.
I was like... "huh... looks like Christchuch scenery, and... port hills rock. Woah, socialclimber!"
Nice shot man! When was that?

November 5th. You still had your head in your books I think
This should be our 'come climb in the Port Hills' advertisement shot. I am trying to figure out what the giant cam is for though.....
She just likes to be prepared for anything.
Excellent shot!! This one should should be in a magazine! I gave it a ten +
the background , her face , the pozition ooo
hot
Apart from the huge cam, I like the ear-rings and neat make-up. She does like to be prepared, huh!?
Is this a trad or sport climb? I see quick draws and the only pro is the huge cam. Great pic thought! 10! :)
it's all trad, but short and vertical, so don't need much gear(huge cam???), and you rarely need to extend much (the yellow is a trad-draw though).
makeup, earrings, blonde highlights in her hair, smooth shaven legs...her thumb even looks post-manicure- no way she's a climber. I'm calling photoshop; she looks too good.
mingleefu, you been staring waay too hard at this pic. ; ) I don't own PS. Kadiez
is a kick arse climber. And just how do
you experts figure shes wearing makeup or has post manicure nails??

So I was told to take a look at the comments on this page once it turned into hair and makeup discussion. Wow...if I had known my hair, nails and supposed makeup/shaven legs were going to be such an issue I would have actually put some effort into it. If only ya'll knew what I'm really like! lol Anyway...forget the superificial stuff guys and gals and just call it for what it is...a good shot by socialclimber that for some reason makes me look nice. End of story...
Haha... I really like it, simple, but nice.
That has to be one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. Yes, I'm talking about her. and the camo... Oh dang... Ohhhhh dang!
hey social, i guess you forgot to introduce me to her..
she wasn't in NZ while you were....bad timing on your part I guess ;-)
nice shot. the salt lake crew misses you!
After leading that route, I can safely say there isn't even almost a slight chance of needing the thought of placing that cam. Great route though, and mint photo.
doogle, you missed the #4 cam placment??
dude, when did you 'lead that route'???? I thought Gift Horse was your one and only!?
thats hilarious how all the girls gang up on the hottie!! haha
even funnier!!!.....not even girls ..heiko is a guy!!!..dude whats your deal??
social climber - just razzin' ya. you can see hints of blush on her cheeks, and you can see the white-tipped thumbnail. Not staring hard, just recognizing the art for its many elements. Kadiez - We are calling it for what it is; your looking nice is what makes it a good shot. (that and the green tones that soothe the eye around the image.)
I liked the focused serenity in Kadies face. This pictures represents what I like the most about trad; when you can have the peace and focus of being in your own little word. Where as if you were sane you'd be scared or safe on the ground.
hey azrockclimber, subtle irony is not one of your strenghts, huh? ;-)
sbaclimber: Gift horse was the first, a couple of weeks later I did this one plus something at Rapaki. I saw kadiez in person the other day. She looks different than in the photo - maybe it was because she was sans massive cam...
sorry i was drooling...
This photo... nice very nice... very good...
Hey Diez! Happy Holidays! To the droolers: knowing her fairly well- I find it pretty unlikely that she made herself up for this photo. She just looks that good all the time!
awesome picture captures the beauty of the climber and the scenery. Looks like a tricky move... so i am going to NZ for the spring semester and debating bringing more then my shoes this picture may have just made my decision... oh man i cant wait to go : )
She's a hottie indeed. Where are thesegirls in CA?
Thats alot of comments lol..but nice shot
cute lady...i'm obviously climbing with the wrong crowd
At the risk of sounding sexist the climber is very good looking. the shot itself is nothing special and the shot is made by HER. Things wrong with the photo? No eye contact, the blown out highlights, among other things. Overall it's a decent shot because of the model/climber. The foreground exposure is excellent though. If it was me in that shot with the same move, same background it would never make the front page. BTW, how high is she in the shot? Just off the deck or mid pitch?
I agree with you pico, kadiez makes the shot. While I think it's good to see the face, eye contact with the camera ruins action shots in my opinion. she is about 6-7 meters off the deck.
she looks intense!
