nice shot, but i also think the blur is too much. maybe just blur the rock in the foreground, but not the belayer. shouldnt the belayer be also in focus since he is in the same distance from the camera as the climber?

Leave it as it is. The picture is very good. More than one photagrapher has payed a grand or so for a shift and tilt lens just to get that same effect.
