A great example of stupid and excessive bolting. It's an overly contrived line that's of such low quality that it doesn't justify installing bolts. If it were done all natural it would still be contrived but no harm would be done. By the way, I've placed several hundred bolts so I'm no anti-bolt nazi.
^^^To throb: I've actually been to the area and the water level varies if that changes your excessive bolting argument. No biggie though. I haven't actually done the line or anything on Gutenberger Wall yet (I've haven't gone to CRG in a couple of years). It's the best pic I've seen of the route.

seriously what a vag. If there is a route to be climbed, why not bolt it? Does it really take away from your artistic pleasure of the slab? If you want to solo it, that's fine, but don't pretend like there is nobody climbing lower grades than you.

traversing and on a slab. DONT fall. great picture.
The water's about 15ft deep there. When the water's a no flow, the bolts are more than justified. When the water level is high, it's a swift moving river with steep slab on both sides. Theirs also some narley rapids a couple hundred feet down river, and a dunk in it might be the last swim you ever take. It's also a high quality polished sustained slab traverse IMO. Just cuz you got your ass spanked and took the dunk is no reason to be bitter toward the route.

Hey ricky. These two kids are 14, i mean come on.this first pitch is a traverse, the second pitch goes straight up. Hard route on solid granite. Check out rickys other pics for more of this route.
