Woh. Pretty Sweet. And do I see draws for practice clipping?

I wish my garage had a 12 foot ceiling.

Is that your garage? Nice wall, I even like the trinity symbol painted on the right side.

Did I meet you in Red Rocks in December?

Some interesting perspective going on. The chair and window appear normal, but then they make you look about 4 ft tall.

Yeah, thanks for the compliments, all. I have a "route" set that traverses across the top, down, and then across the bottom for a total of 26 moves/holds. I just tie in with a 5 ft piece of rope so it just threads through as I go. The roof that I'm under is 6 ft tall and the ceiling is 11. We've been having a crazy winter/spring this year and this has been a lifesaver.

What your area might lack in real rock, you sure make up for with big garages.

...I guess I should clarify, gunkiemike. The first roof that I'm standing under is 6'8" tall. (I'm 5'7" tall). and the camera is on a 1' tripod on the floor so the perspective is kinda skewed! Thanks again, all. BTW if any of you are in the Iowa City area let me know and we can go fight the choss that is Iowa climbing.

I see quite a few voodoo holds on there. And dude, that is a wicked wall. Nice filling in of corners (above you), little arrętes, *well lit*. Looks really well done. You forgot the time it took to design in your cost estimate (even if you did it yourself).

I really didn't do it all at once. It took multiple sessions. I'd say about 20 hours, but I'm pretty picky. The hand crack had to be just right, etc...

How did you make the edges of the hand crack smooth as to not give the climber splinters or have the ply-wood flex as the climber jammed?
Comment pyleclimber on 2008-06-13
More PhotosPhoto RatingsPhoto CommentsProfile
The crack is made with two 2x6-12' with a 1x on the back so it won't flex. The inside of the crack has been sanded, filed, "Dremmeled", etc. to make the texture smooth as butta. It is very hard to use the crack alone, but possible.

Thanks everyone, I just pulled apart the far left dihedral and rebuilt it into a fist jam crack. Check out my other photos for visuals. Party!
