I could almost dip my hand into that chalk, so nice...
the leader is above the large horizontal, the second is the black spot..
It's very crisp and well put together. I like how there is even grass covering the girl's foot...
This is a sweet shot, I like how he is glowing...
ok, so maybe this one is a little cleaner...
Looks like it could be the Fiver
yeah dirk, nice one
So just like the title says, it's Tonka Tower. Which is near the north and south window arches...It's an Wiggins FA going at 5.8 A0. The A0 is a bolt ladder made of old ice screws that you have to high step off of. Fun tower...and I guess a litttle bit obscure
Actually the elevator shaft is on the otherside of the watchtower standard/joker. Between mother's day and the joker. This was taken above Dog buttress
this photo is so rad, yeah ambler!
"thats not climbing unless your getting off a climb -- climb_kev" LOL nice pic
isn't 'apiece' the one who was claiming the FA of the elevator shaft(in 1960 something?) Looks pretty young, where are his 2x4s and pins...lol
sweet pic. Keep it up!
Perhaps it belongs here because there is even a forum dedicated to it, and deemed part of the climbing culture...hell you see it in Rock and Ice and Climbing...
Sorry, but this isn't Tony. It's Travis Williams, of Boulder, Co. I do have more pics of the cave and Trav...but I don't know Tony...
Very Nice Pic! Looks like a clean/solid route. I'd dog up that thing helmetless in a heartbeat.
I agree, there is no such thing as climbing shoes ;)
soooo crisp! soooo nice!
The helmet is for a different route, this one is pretty clean...
sweet shot, looks super fun...
Nice shot, nice colors
I like the inset included. Nice work
I like this shot alot, best one in the series, IMHO. Nice Work.
nice colors, looks fun.
Nice shot, very crisp.
nice shot! I find myself coming back to this photo alot as of late...
nice shot, I like the framing alot. Looks like a really fun crack too...
Thanks for the comments guys.
mbg: I actually haven't met or climbed with Kevin, just climbed some of his routes (so nice!), but Mill Creek has alot of potential.
I like the action alot, and it's quite crisp too. Nice work.
this shot kicks ass! nice work!
Pat was on rap on 'thing inbetween' which is just to the side of 'tigger'. Ambler: It is a bit cool in November, but it's not too bad. If you come back to the Bozeman area, look us up!
Great action. Great colors. Great texture
atta boy Davy!
where is the helmet!? J/K great shot!
great shot! oh and "Where's the helmet parents!?" J/K :)
Such a rad shot! Nice work! I was in the etriers at that point, but it brings back great memories of this airy tower! Plus you can just barley make out Crooked Arrow Spire too! So nice!
another very nice shot Marten...
so rad, great photo...
So good! I'm stoked to see another shot of this route, not that I was a non-believer-just amped to see more of your photos...
very nice! I love the action.
Such a great shot, just perfect. BTW I'd love to see the puking shot:)
mmmm practice rock, that's Theoretical though, 'the fiver' is just to the left, both are very fun climbs.
Makes me think about Pink Floyd
very nice pic, looks fun
mmmm, this looks like fun
3 bolts in 70 feet is not a sport route, nice send adam!
looks nice, PM or post up some beta please
I say God Damn!
Note: This was actually a rest day. Dom also did longer lines, but no epics.
He did float Levitation 29, Triassic Sands, and Ginger Cracks, among other multipitch during our stay in Vegas.
What was the sketchball and fshizzler having an epic on?
Very nice shot, I enjoy the view. Wish I could see a bit more of the route, but it is still very quality.
OMG, this is super funny
Holy Crap! Nice pic, I wanna leave and go there right now....
Very nice shot, glad to see it gracing the front page. Love the colors
Nice shot, looks like I need to get out to the King and Queen
Jay- thanks,I didn't even see it at first...
Very nice, love the clipping action...wish I could see a bit more of the head/foot, but it's still an outstanding shot.
The texture is superb. very nice
azrock: I have 3 other shots posted that may give you a better idea...
I understand your point, but I'm not too worried about it. This was actually more of a test to see which photo got the best reaction, as I am planning to submit one to a local slideshow...thanks for the comment though.
Damn that sweet. Looks really fun. ^^^I wish you could rate photo comments....
looks so good!
It's really rad, nice work! I like your other shots too, but this is a step up! 10 --> trad and Off-width, so good.....
such a nice shot...
great shot, I love the action....
yes! I want to climb this tower so bad! great shots, I wish they were bigger.
sick, just plain sick!
holy shit! HOLY SHIT! This photo is ridiculous! Wide trad, great angle and completely stylish, I’m in awe…
Outstanding! I was wondering when you were going to post a new one....as usual it's jaw-dropping
yup it's revenue flats alright....wondering when I was going to see this area added....
Best shot I've seen of the Big Bend on RC.com
a very nice shot
oh hell yeah
nice, this is a sick prob....
sick shot, the pain was worth it.
the thread you posted on this day was good, I like the other pics too...

very nice shot
nice shot, great action
If you go into the RD link you can see the same shot with the rope. She is seconding. Still a nice photo.
nice shot, dreamy
nice shot, great action.
I keep coming back to this shot, it's so nice. All these great elements all coming together. 9
I've looked at it, but everytime I show up to the City I get snowed out. Not next time though...which is soon...I'll shoot you a PM
Nice, Owl Roof did that to you? Such a cool area around there....
right, my bad, school starts and summer seems over.....
Elvis- this was taken from the top of the 'real' rabbit rock
it looks good, cool formation
great action, great gym shot
I can see the difference, still very nice though...
Looks like a good size crack, nice work with the colors too
I like this shot alot
yikes! Love it.
Jealous, wish I was there for that one...great shot!
walk off to a short downclimb...
wow, great shot Matt! You have submitted a ton a really nice shots.
Yeah Rocco! Nice shot as well Bellagio...
Great shot! I love that problem too.
Nice! Great framing of the eastside. Clockwise from Liz: Pineapple Buttress, Watchtower lower and upper tier, Sparerib and the Skyline(ashes), with a bit of Fish Face and the Waltz to her back. So cool. Oh yeah, nice onsight Liz!
What a joke
Fake? Nope, it’s just world class. Which mag gets the pleasure mshore?.
When we rapped this we saw a some cut ropes deep in the cracks too. Unfortunate. I really didn't think the rap was that tricky....
looks rad, do you have other shots higher on the route?
Misty-I think both...it's a must do as far as 1 pitches go..... btw I made it larger for ya'll....
very cool, great action
This is a cool one. I like.
great photo, looks like he's having a blast!
Hey pmyche: you got a problem with our Gallatin photos? You ever even been to the Gallatins? You don't have a clue...you talk shit, but then have no photos of your own...whatever, we'll take critiques from actual photographers, not winey bitches...end rant...
I like this shot too, looks like a funky prob...glad to see it on the FP...
Looks like she pleased with what she's finding. I like the bouldering shots...
I think this is a good shot. Looks like it gets the blood flowing on that hand/foot match!....gotta love the bombers, cause they can't love themselves...
Tim- it's very cool that your submitting here, great shot!
This looks really good, nice shot too.
lighting and chalk washed it out a bit...Travis was breathing a bit on this one;)
great action. I read something about bouldering being developed near the Castleton, looks cool.
Nice shot, looks good on the FP
Oh yeah, this is a great shot. See you on the FP....
Nice shot. Nice send too.
nice! I agree with Jay on this, looks great!
Thanks Elvis. Long Canyon is a Potash side canyon, not too far from Moab...
Nice Liz! Nice shot too Bill. Yo mtikusis: The belayer is just fine, and its spelt "you're" not "your".
rad shot. unique
Muhahahahahahah! Mingleefu has fallen for my spelling trap!
This is a great shot!
Sand Traverse, V2
Awesome. I'm glad to see this on the FP!
Hillary- you and Sean need to pair up more, pretty much the best stuff I've seen from you....
Sentinel hates fun...Funny, because I like the shot, campfires, getting drunk, and singing songs...but maybe that's just me...
You submitted your shot @ 48k, you can bump it up to 128k, that'll help.
This is 'Thing In Between'...ahh the Gallatins....
Thanks Stoney. We did 4 days, January 1-4, the conditions were perfect....
Hell yeah. Nice shot, cool looking problem.
Looks like a purple metolius....Great shot.
This one seems to stand out, very cool moment.
That one does look a bit tall...
Dang Cletus, you guys are gonna have to show me this one...
Such a great looking shot! I agree that the blur may be from the filesize. 37k is a pretty small. In PS I usually go image size, reduce by a percentage, then a bit of unsharp mask, and end up with a filesize ~115kish...hope this helps. It's a great photo, along with the rest you have submitted....
Don't mind seeing this on the FP one bit, nice.
This looks like a great problem, how tall is it?
niiiiicccceee. Looks good, nice shot too btw....
Dang, this one turned out nice Bill...We must return...
This is a post-climb photo. Check out the other shots in the Tonka section...
^^^^HAHAHAHAH!!!! wax on, wax off....
Badass. I'm a sucker for offwidths, but this shot rocks!
very nice shot
Very nice photo!
lmfao! the mazda didn't make it up for this one! You hanging with brett?
Looks good James!
I like the plane. Very cool shot.
Gunksgoer called it, along with Pat moving back down into this stance...
Nice! Next time we'll have to bring the pads and spend a little more time in the Kraft area...that was fun. Thanks for posting this one Trav.
Nice moment. Very nice photos of this route.
Nice Ryan! Hope everything @ Saint George went y'alls way...
^^^you would know curt, didn't you do the stunt work?!
KEEP STUFFIN!!1 yeah....
I agree, nice and crisp too. Looks good.
the shadow looks pretty funny....
I think you might have something on your lens, give it a good wipe down;)
This looks so good.
Nice, how many problems?
NICE! Way to call the weather's bluff. Go Brett!!1
His hand is just above and left of the crimp, you can see the faint chalk in the band of black....
No enhancement, Sheep Mountain is just that colorful. Thanks for the props!
Such a nice shot. It's a very positive thing that SMCC got involved in this area.
Kevin- I like the new guide, nice work! Don't worry about the armchair mountaineers.
Cool shot. The route in the background looks pretty cool too. Nice stone
FFA? Did someone aid this first!?
Nice shot. June of 2006 huh? Can I get a ride in your time-machine ;)
That is creepy, very similar....nice eye.
Cha-ching. Money shot.
Nice Jay. I like the shadows.....
Damn fellas! Very nice. When was this team up?
^^This is the Palister bros on their 'solo circuit', I can't remember if they soloed pitch 3 or not that day...We were climbing on the B.O. Buttress when I spotted them. Pitch 3 of The Waltz is fairly serious though…quite the story Kevin!
Looking honed in
LMFAO! Yeah Jorg, maybe if you ask really nice Joe will show you how to take stellar photos....oh wait....
I like this shot, looks like a fun area.
Nice. No prob on the approach then?
yeah, nice.....you plan on getting up to bozeman this summer?
Looks like a great corner. Nice
Dang Brett. Looking soft.
Looks good. I assume the 12c is an extension?
Very rad. F@ck Yeah!
Looking good Liz!
I really like this shot.
“What's this? You're wearing the shirt of the band you're going to see? Don't be that guy.”(Jeremy Piven, PCU)
BAM!! Nice action on this one.
Everyone's worried about the scene below, but didn't anyone read the caption? Fall Caught From Above....sheesh:) nice pic
The 'paint' is lichen....
^^^thanks for the comments...I'd like to go and reshoot this area soon....
Nice photo troll...but I don't doubt it from ya'll.... jt512 wrote: Placing gear adds about as much "intellectual dimension" to climbing as using a stick shift does to driving.
The quote was from a thread in which he indicated that placing pro added nothing mentally to climbing, so might as well bolt a crack...
Nice....digging on these water shots.
Nice. Yeah Lisa!
^^^ You can paypal me the $5.....LOL
You cruise 30 routes on the deto and this is the ONE you don't onsight? heh, just kidding. Nice shots bro...
Nice! Fun spot on the Wedge. Any storms?
Thanks Andy....kinda funny about the nut, because it seems obvious in Pat's face too...thanks for the tip Mingleefu!
^^^yup, Thing Inbetween...Good route. It's pretty fun pulling up on the jug he's standing on....
Looks like a rad area....Nice send Jay!
LOL....that's pretty funny...judging by the photos it looks like you had a good time, also that people love to hate....
above you write 'ha me'....is it actually you?
Nice pic. Looks stellar....my buddy Steve just moved to teach right near there....must get my ass out there to visit!
Dang Cletus! errr....I mean Jay....Nice one.
unique, and really nice
the shot is submitted at 48k, you can submit climbing shots at 128k...
no, it's the 2 0f 4 photo that would be the crux....
I've got a fever, and the only cure is more cowbell!
quite nice, how many problem out there?
what a day, eh?
pink shirts for lyfe!!
that thing is sharp!
I think you'd know beter than I would Hutch!
tslater - check out the trip report.
One photo doesn't sum up a trip.
Wow, rad shot. Check out that ring he's clipped to! Hell yeah!
What route is this?
This is basically uphill from the TR wall
It's an 'enviro-hanger' painted to match the rock....
The sheep was on top of the cliff with the photog.
If you keep them close to the edge, they keep backing up!
How did I miss this one?
Wow! Very nice
lodi5onu - it had been TRed prior to bolting, and Pat is a chalk fiend....
Thanks all. This would be a WI5
This is rad!
Nice shot. Looks rad!
Nice LA, good to see you putting pics up again.....
man o man!
looks like too much fun!
Sa - weet!
Oldlumpy is funny....
where is the guide to this area?
At least your route wasn't retro-bolted because you refused let out the 'secret'
Publish to preserve history
wow, that looks stellar
Cool that you got on some of these problems Greg.
Currently the problem count around problems #1,2,3/Bolted boulder aka the 'east tracks' is in the upwards of 50ish...
I'd be interested in seeing the photos paired with these problem #s...
lots of good crack bouldering in the area...
I really like the equalized screamers/nest...yikes
I don't think it's poor form...he voted it up first, giving it a bump so it could be seen....currently with the RC.com photo gallery, that's one of the only ways to get noticed...just look at how many votes/views/comments the first 4 most recent pictures get compared to the other 40 submitted that day...
Philly - yer spot on, it's actually a pretty popular route (Dream Weaver, The Queen)...TR it, lead it, boulder it, solo it...whatever suits ya
reg, the pads are definitely in the 'drop zone', not that trav needs them, but he arranged them how he wanted, then cruised it...
The crack being climbed is .10a, the OW to it's right is .11+
The corner doesn't accept any pro, but the horizontal break he's going for does..
crack problems in the batholith are rated in YDS
nice looking route/area
very cool shot
You look psyched! right on!
Nice. Looks like a cool area
cool looking area
Glad you posted up
cool shot right here!
more pictures of the problem are found here:
Maybe you should look at the dude's other pics before you call him a liar...
Congrats Frank! Sounds like Pat is pulling together a trip report...should be good!
This is an awesome shot of Pat!
Nice Looking rock and lichen combo
cool shot, neat looking route.
Nice! Pretty fun to chill and BBQ up there...sounds like you guys threw down!
Our climbing is not for everyone....
LMAO...in another photo you gave 1 star you wrote:
"Silhouette cave shots are probably the most overdone shot."
yet you give your own 5 stars...hmm...I see how it is...LOL
really cool shot
machino -I think mojede's joke went right over your head...
It's "R-e-s-i-n D-o-o-b-i-e"
I'm gonna guess the first rap off of Infrared....
Cool photo, looks stellar!
I remember that climb! it's fun!
Our eyes have been opened to the abundance OW out here. It's hard to stay away...
tipping point? so nice.
If you'd be so kind to PM approach details....
whipping onto a blue/black alien and a green c3 is not sport....or maybe it just made you spurt a little...
Good stuff Wayne.
Thanks for adding these
You posted this photo and now are getting all defensive over the comments? Didn't you see this coming?
yikes, I know that gap...suck to botch that one...
Nice. Was this taken recently?
right on. I'm enjoying the shots you're putting up, wouldn't mind seeing more...
According to Lightrack, I gave a pretty soft catch...he went about as big as you'd want to/can though...I ended up level with him IIRC
That's some rad looking stone.
nice shot too
do you mean 'free handing'?
I recognize some of the boulders in your photos, but I'm not sure about this one. I think Mojede was just razzing you a bit. The tracks area has been climbed since the 70's.
If you are cleaning off flakes though, it's a good chance you're working a fresh problem.(good on ya!) There is a ton of stuff still waiting to be done, the batholith stretches to Helena.
A guidebook is in the works, but it's difficult to pin down much history.
Hit me up if you plan on coming out again...
For another view of the problem,
I gotta disagree with sidepull...but he usually rates photos low, so it's no surprise.
It's a nice shot, thanks for posting.
That's understandable...it only takes 5 votes to get a photo on FP rotation though...your votes still count.
You gotta rate photos if you want them to be seen. They don't get on the FP any other way...you've rated a total of 51 photos in your 3+ years here, and only rated 4 photos in 2007.
If you want different photos in rotation, you gotta at least vote for them.
Nice shot BTW...
In extreme circumstances, the assailants can be stopped by removing the head or destroying the brain. I will repeat that: by removing the head or destroying the brain.
He looks roped up to me...
yer in a heap of trouble boy...
It goes at ~5.8...
it's offset seam with a small edge to lieback against...quite difficult...
agreed, and whatta place for a hammock!
As soon as I saw this I thought of another shot of your's
Think I like this one better though, but both are very nice shots.
In the tracks area...somewhat near Gillette Edge
wow, really nice!
The route is out in Fantasia, which is in the Butte guide...I got the angle by squeezing through a squeeze chimney that looks out the roof...
this picture might help explain:
it's lichen...check out some of the other gally pics for some nice colors...
cool looking features!
I like this photo, it makes me smile every time I see it...and it's much better than the many profile photos that people like to vote up for the lulz...
Funny thing is, when you photo bomb with this system, it just makes the photo more popular since it has more votes.
Only takes 3 votes to get it on the FP, and there is no way to get it out of rotation once it hits 3 votes...except wait a month...voting only adds to the popularity, even if you vote a 1...
so thank the photo bombers, because they are only helping you...
If you look at the other picture I gave the address for above, you can see the crack seals off near lip, making it hard to reach through to the jams. A kick through helps you gain a heel hook at the lip...
Thank you for posting this shot.
I wouldn't call it 'sleazy' at all.
It's giving you a view down the route...and you can deduce the angle of the route through the cams...so I don't having any problem with this choice of framing...maybe a wide angle lens would get you a similar view down the route and help keep the angle a bit more 'legit' though...
Kinda like all those shots looking down "straight shooter" on the Brass Wall in RR, you know it's not that steep, but looking down the crack is somewhat more appealing...
That's the spirit!
Homestake is more of a general term for the area (homestake/pipestone pass). Currently development is happening in various parts of the area...hard to say when the guide will come together though
thanks dilbar, you should come out for a session some time
nice, wasn't sure of the individual names...
This is known as the 'Gill Boulder'...though verm then went and checked it out/published about it...
Cool shot. Neat to see the other parties in the background...
^^^maybe click on his profile?
Very cool shot!
Nice! Gotta love those inverts
it's obvious you didn't read the above comments...
Thanks fellas, mighty nice compliment...
you are correct dilbar....good times in the backwaters!
foot in crack, friction top-out.....
Looking good bros!
you can jam it, and it's much harder...
I'm actually belaying in this shot, but...
To get into it, get solid jams and pull those feet up above you...release jams...you are now inverted, now do a sit-up and some reverse chicken wingin and reach up to the lip.
Nice send bro!
He's probably ~35 feet off the deck right now, the ground drops out as you climb out the roof.
As for the rating, somewhere in the .11 range....
armchair perspective for sure...it's much easier to layback
This is not really near anything previously established/published. In general it's east of Dragons Back, but west of Tony's Canyon...Lots of exploring as of late...
you'll have to come out and show us the beta...
I figured, but I couldn't help myself :)
A bomb for a bomb...
Another photo bomb from granite_grrl...nice!
Montana (or the wide) must scare you or something ;)
That's confidence inspiring!
When was undertow @ woodson put up?
And if you look at the pictures I've submitted over the last couple years, you can tell we avoid the OW every chance we get...
Hardest offwidth in MT?
we took a rest day the next day...
Perhaps it's awesome because there is no approach?
The route ends just a few feet farther out, he pulls up and over right before/around that bright triangle...
More pics here:
there is a belayer, just kinda hard to see...
That's a rad shot! THIN!
LOVE this shot!
Hennessey - obviously you're not a golfer
maybe he likes the offwidth and squeeze chimneys?
I swear I've seen this somewhere before....
I'll look for updates, good luck with the recovery.
I have hallix rigidus in the right big toe...
Did the surgery help?
At first I was like o_0, but then I LOLed
